Case Study: Housing

McDermott Place

McDermott Place is a six-story, mixed-use project in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood with permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless single adults, with 38 of the units designated specifically for veterans. Upgraded thermal insulation and intermediate framing construction fulfill local “SeaGreen” and Seattle City Light “Built Smart” requirements. North Helpline owns the non-residential spaces on the ground floor where it operates the Lake City/Northgate Food Bank and an emergency services program. The service-enriched apartments help residents obtain the services they need to maintain stable housing, and provide opportunities for access to education and employment services.
