Case Study: Urban Mixed-Use

Lyric Apartments

Traditional meets contemporary

This project is located in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, a densely populated urban area where traditional brick apartment houses are being joined by contemporary buildings after a recent change in zoning. The project site is located a block away from the new light-rail station and fronts along Broadway Avenue. The site is also divided between two zones, providing the opportunity for ground-related housing on the less public side. The building will also feature first-class amenities like the fitness center and yoga room, as well as a generous courtyard at ground level. Rich, traditional materials combine with a contemporary design vocabulary to fit the building to its context.
